What have you gained by participating in The Congressional Award?
The Congressional Award has been a very influential thing in my life that has helped me acquire useful soft skills, develop a willingness to work, and organize my things. Staying organized has been the key to keeping progress in the program. If I didn’t track what all I was doing right when I did it, I would never be able to remember everything that went on. I also have had to talk to and meet so many people who were in a lot of cases very different from myself, and to work with them I needed to know how to be an agreeable person and someone who was a good worker. None of the things I did were paid, so it took determination to keep my head down and keep pushing through even though I knew the reward was not something tangible.
