What have you gained by participating in The Congressional Award?
I have gained large amounts of information about one of my favorite history topics and got to experience a different way of living. Through learning about the past, I got to experience different cultures; for example, urban life, as I come from a more rural area. I also got to try real, fresh seafood, which does not exist where I live because it’s landlocked. I even got to experience different activities and sights along the way, from cool spring temperatures in Pennsylvania, to hot, humid, summer-like temperatures in Georgia.
